Prayer House

Provide a tangible space

We are made in the image of the God. Because we in His image we are inventive, creative and imaginative. The Prayer House is designed to help stimulate our five senses and release our imaginations and dreams. Time in the prayer room becomes a time of freedom, intimacy and power. There is something so adventurous and exciting about getting away to a place where others have cried out to God. Art, poetry and prayers cover the walls, and time here is like walking into the hearts of our campus community spread out raw and vulnerable before God and us.

The Prayer House is a two-room house near Ohio State's campus set apart for corporate and individual prayer, worship, and creativity. No body lives here but during the hours with gatekeepers, the house is open. Sign up for individual or small group prayer in the boiler room here.

If your campus ministry or church is interested in hosting a 24-hour prayer vigil or have prayer meetings for your ministry, the house is available. The community room is completely for the use of the entire body of Jesus on campus. For information, or to reserve the community room, send an email to info@loveosu.com.

“[The prayer house is] A place where people from and around OSU ministries can come to find rest and space to talk with God and leave their burdens, to then go back to their ministry and better serve.”
–Patty Lou Epply

Campus Wide Prayer

Facilitate a campus wide community of prayer

  • Campus Wide Prayer: Students from all different ministries and churches gather every Thursday at 10pm on the Oval to agree in prayer over our campus, nation and world. Praying together provides an opportunity for unique and valuable relationships to form between the diverse family of God.
  •  Fire in the Night: Student call together these midnight prayer meetings that last until the wee hours of the night to worship and cry out to God.
  • Campus Minister Prayer & Jesus Tales: Throughout the years, Love OSU has facilitated prayer meetings to intentionally gather campus ministry leaders to pray together. There is also a prayer and fellowship meeting where students from different ministries gather to share stories and pray.
  • 24/7 Prayer: Love OSU regularly hosts weeks of 24/7 prayer on campus. We see that bold, persistent prayer is effective. First, it changes us. Then, it changes the world. Jesus told stories to encourage us to "cry out day and night" (Lk 18) and to persist in prayer. Campus churches and ministry take prayer blocks throughout the week that either take place at the Prayer House or a tent in the center of campus. Our vision is to see 24/7 prayer not just be a weeklong event, but a consistent rhythm of inviting God’s presence sustained by students.

“There has never been a spiritual awakening in any country or locality that did not begin in united prayer.”
–Dr. A.T. Pierson, revival historian.

Campus America

Help mobilize prayer on other campuses in Ohio and the Nation.

It's spreading; Love OSU is humbled to be one of the first prayer movements of its kind. We work with students from campuses in Ohio to unite in our efforts of prayer and network with schools across the nation that are seeking to carry out similar visions.
